I'm inspired by the work of Irish Injured Jockeys and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in The Corinthian Challenge Charity Race Series 2019. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this years line up of 16 riders.
I have recently rode in the Punchestown charity race and it was the most amazing experience, the Irish crowds are fantastic, friendly, and really supportive. I am looking forward to riding at three of Ireland's racecourses, The Curragh in July, Cork September and Leopardstown in October, and to win the outright trophy would be a dream come true. I have ridden in 42 charity races so far raising in excess of £185,000.00 and by the end of the year it will be approx 50 races and well over £200,000.00
I love race riding and raising money for so many charities is fantastic and hope that I will leave a legacy for many to follow by riding in these amazing events. I hope my participation will help to make this years series a massive success.
I would like to thank all at IIJ and also like to thank all my family, friends and everyone for all your help and support.
With a surname like Mccarthy I feel like I will fit in perfectly over in Ireland competing in this event!
Roll on the races and good luck to all involved,
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
